LEMON COCONUT BARS 
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter, softened

FILLING:

1 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. coconut
1 c. chopped walnuts
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

ICING:

3/4 c. powdered sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. melted butter
3 tbsp. lemon juice

Mix sugar and flour. Work in butter with fingers. Pat crumb mixture in the bottom of a 13"x9"x2" pan which has been either greased and floured or completely lined with foil. Bake 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Combine ingredients of filling and spread on top of the slightly baked mixture. Bake 20 minutes longer. When cooled, spread with the simple lemon icing. Cut into squares. Tastes best the next day.
