OKRA SOUP | |
1 1/2 lb. or more stew meat with bone 2 lg. onions, sliced 3 lb. okra, chopped 8 lg. fresh tomatoes, cut up 4 slices raw bacon 2 c. celery, chopped Cook meat with onions in 3 quarts water with salt, pepper and 2 bay leaves about 1 hour. Add okra, tomatoes, bacon and celery. Simmer for 2 hours. Serve in soup bowls with 1 scoop of cooked rice. |
