ITALIAN MEAT SAUCE 
1 1/2 lb. ground beef, or turkey
1 can tomatoes
2 med. cans tomato paste
1 can tomato sauce
2 tbsp. onion
Several cloves minced garlic
1/2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. basil
Italian seasoning to taste
Black pepper to taste

Brown meat in 2 tbsp. canola oil. Add onion and garlic. Stir and cook to soften. Add tomatoes which have been stirred and broken up in blender. Stir. Add 2 cans tomato paste with 3 cans water to each can. Stir well. Add can of tomato sauce. Stir. Add sugar. Cook over medium heat. When foam comes to top remove. Add spices and cook over low heat for several hours stirring so it won't stick. About 2 1/2 to 3 hours or until consistency desired. Don't cook until dry.
