PITTSBURGH BBQ SAUCE FOR SANDWICHES | |
1 cup ketchup (Hunts) 1 cup water 4 tbsp. red wine vinegar 1/2 cup white sugar 2 tsp. salt 1 cup chopped onion 3 tsp. butter 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 lb. chipped chopped ham (should be tissue-thin) 1 pkg. hamburger rolls (8 count) In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients except the meat and the rolls. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Simmer for approximately 15 or 20 minutes. Add the meat, separating the pieces so they are coated by the sauce and continue heating for about 10 minutes. If desired, butter or toast the rolls. Using tongs, add meat to rolls with sauce as desired. Submitted by: Jane |
