CORN MEAL PASTRY 
1 c. flour
1/4 c. corn meal
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. + 1 tbsp. shortening
3 tbsp. cold water

Measure flour, corn meal and salt into bowl. Cut in shortening thoroughly. Sprinkle in water (1 tablespoon at a time), mixing until all flour is moistened. Gather into a ball, roll in rectangle, 12"x8", on lightly floured board. Fold lengthwise in half. Cut slits on folded edge.
