STRAWBERRY TOPPING 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1 c. crushed strawb erries
1 1/2 tsp. cornstarch
2 c. whole or sliced strawberries
Red food color

Add water to 1 cup crushed berries. Boil for 2 minutes. Mix sugar and cornstarch. Add this to crushed berry mixture and boil until it begins to thicken. Remove from heat. Pour mixture over 2 cups whole or sliced strawberries and refrigerate until cool. Serve with Cool Whip over cake or ice cream.
