BLACK & WHITE BROWNIES 
2 c. white sugar
1 c. shortening, part butter
4 eggs
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. chopped nuts
2 sq. chocolate

Cream shortening. Add sugar. Beat in an egg at a time. Add dry ingredients. Divide batter in 2 parts. Add chocolate to 1 part. Spoon both batters alternately in lightly greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees until done. Cool slightly.
