BRISKET SURPRISE | |
3-4 lb. brisket 1 pkg. Lipton onion soup 1/2 c. cider vinegar 1/2 c. light brown sugar 1/2 lb. carrots, sliced 1 lb. potatoes, quartered 1 lg. onion, chopped Combine onion soup, cider vinegar and brown sugar and pour over brisket that has been placed in a large Dutch oven. Cover, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour. Turn brisket over and simmer an additional half hour. Remove brisket from Dutch oven and place in a roasting pan. Pour sauce on top and add carrots, onions and potatoes. Cover with 3 sheets of heavy-duty aluminum foil (to lock in steam) and bake at 350 degrees for 2 hours. It makes the most tender and delicious brisket you've ever eaten. |
