BUFFALO BISCUITS 
1 pkg. granulated yeast
1/4 c. lukewarm water
1 c. warm buttermilk
5 tbsp. shortening
3 tbsp. sugar
3 c. self-rising flour
1/4 c. melted butter

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Heat buttermilk over hot water, stirring in shortening, sugar, and yeast. Add half of the flour and beat thoroughly. Add remaining flour and knead 25 times. Roll dough to 1/2 inch thick; cut with a cutter and place on a baking sheet, 1/2 inch apart. Brush with melted butter and let rise 1 hour in a warm place. Bake in a hot oven (450 degrees) for 15 minutes.
