HELEN'S CHILI SOUP 
1 can hot chili beans
1 large onion
4 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
1/2 lb. fried and drained hamburger
1 lg. can tomato juice
chili powder, to taste
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. fresh basil
1 24 oz (or more) can tomato sauce or puree

Mix all ingredients and cook for 15 minutes.

Canning sauce for chili: In a canning jar mix onion (diced), green pepper (diced) and tomatoes (seeded, cored and diced).

Process pints for 1 hour, quarts 1 hour 15 minutes in a pressure canner at 10 lbs pressure.
