CHEESE SQUARES 
1 1/2 c. graham cracker crumbs
3 tbsp. sugar
1/4 c. butter, melted
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/2 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt (optional)
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. vanilla
8 oz. Cool Whip

Combine crumbs and sugar. Add butter; mix well. Press firmly into 8 inch square dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes. Cool. Beat softened cream cheese until smooth and fluffy. Add 1/2 cup sugar gradually; beating constantly. Add salt. Blend in milk, lemon juice and vanilla. Fold in Cool Whip. Pour into crumb lined pan. Chill at least 3 hours. If desired, may top each square with spoon of cherry pie filling. 9 servings.
