Soak cucumbers in cold water 1 hour before cutting. 1 gallon water 1 pt. of salt Soak overnight in salt water. Drain off brine and cover with boiling water. Let stand 24 hours. Drain off and cover with boiling water and alum size of a walnut. Let set 24 hours. Drain off. Pour hot mixture of: 8 pts. sugar 4 sticks cinnamon Boil vinegar mixture 4 mornings and pour over cucumbers 4th. Put in jars and seal. |
