DILL BREAD | |
2 pkg. yeast in 1/4 cup warm water 1 c. small curd cottage cheese 1/3 stick butter 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tbsp. instant minced onion 2 tsp. dill weed 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 egg, slightly beaten 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 c. flour Heat cheese and butter to lukewarm. Combine all of the ingredients EXCEPT the flour in a large bowl. Using an electric mixer, blend the above mixture. Gradually add the flour, forming a stiff dough. Cover bowl with a damp towel and place in a warm area for 1 hour. Stir down. Place dough in a well greased 8 inch oval casserole (1 1/2 to 2 quart). Let rise 30 to 40 minutes until double in size. Bake in the casserole dish at 350 degrees (325 degrees for glass casserole) for 50 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm. |
