HOT POTATO SALAD (German) 
6 potatoes
1/3 c. vinegar
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
6 slices bacon, bacon substitute
1/2 c. chopped onion
3 tsp. sugar

Boil potatoes and cut into cubes. Place in a 200 degree oven to keep hot and to dry out. Fry bacon until crisp; drain and crumble. Add to potatoes. Pour bacon fat from skillet. Return 1 cup, (for low cholesterol), use bacon substitute and Puritan oil. It takes about 1/4 cup oil to replace the bacon fat. Saute onions (don't brown). Add salt, pepper, vinegar and sugar. Heat and mix well. Pour over potatoes. Stir gently to mix well. Serve very hot.
