SOUR CREAM DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE 
2 c. cake flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. butter
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 egg, unbeaten
3 squares Baker's chocolate, melted
1/2 c. thick sour cream
3/4 c. sweet milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift flour once, measure, add soda, salt, and sift three times. Cream butter thoroughly and add sugar gradually; cream well. Beat in egg, then chocolate. Add 1/4 of flour and beat well, then sour cream. Add remaining flour alternately with milk in small amounts beating after each addition. Add vanilla. Bake in two greased 9" layer pans in moderate oven, 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Frost as desired.
