HOT SPICED WINE 
3 inch cinnamon stick
1 tsp. whole cloves
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 c. gin
3 c. dry red wine

Tie spices in a 5 inch square double thick cheesecloth. Place in heavy saucepan with sugar and water. Cover and cook over low heat for 10 minutes. Add gin and wine, heat on low, uncovered, DO NOT BOIL. Remove spice bag. The bag can be reused. Makes 4 cups.

To make mock wine (nonalcoholic), omit the gin and red wine and substitute with 4 cups of grape juice.
