SOFT PRETZELS 
1 pkg. yeast
3/4 tsp. salt
4 c. flour
1 1/2 c. water
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
1 egg
Coarse salt

Soften yeast in warm water (105 degrees) for about 5 minutes. Add the salt and the sugar. Mix flour into mixture and knead to make a soft dough, about 10 minutes. DO NOT let rise. Cut into small pieces and roll into ropes. Shape into pretzels or any shape you want. Place on a baking sheet that is covered with foil. Brush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle with the coarse salt. Bake at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes.
