THE ULTIMATE BROWNIES
(MICROWAVE)
 
1/2 c. butter
2 sqs. baking chocolate
2 eggs
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla

CARAMEL LAYER:

14 vanilla caramels
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. milk

CHOCOLATE LAYER:

1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. coarsely chopped walnuts

Place butter and chocolate in 2-cup glass measure. Cook on high 1 1/2 minutes, or until butter melts. Beat eggs in large bowl until foamy. Stir in chocolate mixture, sugar, flour, baking powder, and vanilla. Pour into 9-inch microproof baking dish. Set aside.

To prepare caramel layer, combine caramels, butter, and milk, in 2-cup glass measure. Cook on high, 1 to 2 minutes, or until melted, stir. Spoon over chocolate batter.

To prepare chocolate nut layer: sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts over caramel layer. Cook on high 6 to 7 minutes, or until brownies test done. Brownies will be moist but will dry and firm as they cool. Cool before cutting into squares. 18 to 20 servings.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
