BUTTER-NUT KISSES 
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 c. finely ground nuts
30 Hershey kisses

Cream butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla in bowl until light and fluffy. Add mixture of flour, soda, and salt; add mixture of flour, soda, and salt; mix well. Shape into 1 inch balls. Roll in nuts. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until almost set. Press chocolate kiss into center of each cookie. Cool on wire rack. Chill until chocolate is set. Yields 2 1/2 dozen.
