OATMEAL LOAF CAKE 
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. Quaker oats (quick)
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. plain flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Pour boiling water over quick oats. Stir with fork. Cream together, Crisco, brown and white sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Add vanilla. Sift together flour, soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add oats to mixture, add flour mixture gradually. Bake in 8 x 12 pan at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.

TOPPING:

1 stick melted butter
2 egg yolks
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. chopped nuts

Mix together, spread on top of cake while hot. Return to oven and brown a few minutes.
