BEEF 'N POTATO BAKE 
2 c. frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed
1 1/2 tbsp. vegetable oil
Dash of pepper
1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 pkg. gravy mix
1/2 c. water
1/4 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 (5 oz.) pkg. frozen mixed vegetables
1/2 c. (2 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 can French fried onions

In a shallow 1-quart baking dish, combine potatoes, oil and pepper. Firmly press mixture across bottom and up sides of dish to form a shell. Bake uncovered at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.

Meanwhile in skillet, brown beef, drain. Stir in gravy mix, water and garlic salt, bring to a boil. Add mixed vegetables, reduce heat to medium and cook 5 minutes. Stir in 1/4 cup cheese and 1/4 can French fried onions. Place in the potato shell. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and onions. Bake 5 minutes more.
