BEEF & POTATO BAKE 
4 c. frozen hash browns, thawed
3 tbsp. vegetable oil
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 lb. ground beef
1 pkg. (your choice) (10 oz.) frozen vegetables
1 pkg. brown gravy mix
1 c. water
1 c. (4 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese
1 can French fried onions (Durkees)
1/2 tsp. garlic salt

In shallow 1 1/2 quart casserole combine potatoes, oil and pepper. Firmly press mixture across bottom and up sides of dish to form a shell. Bake uncovered at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.

Meanwhile in skillet, brown beef and drain. Stir in gravy mix, water and garlic salt. Bring to boil. Add vegetables, reduce heat to medium and cook for 5 minutes. Stir in 1/2 cup cheese and 1/2 can onions and place in potato shell. Bake, uncovered at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Sprinkle with rest of cheese and onion. Bake 5 minutes longer.
