WONDERFUL CORN BREAD 
1 c. yellow cornmeal
3/4 c. flour, sifted and measured
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
3 tbsp. brown sugar
1 c. buttermilk
1 egg
3 tbsp. cooking oil

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Grease 9 x 9 inch baking pan. Place dry ingredients in large bowl and mix together. In separate bowl, blend buttermilk, egg and oil. Mix liquid into dry ingredients and stir thoroughly. Transfer to prepared pan and bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
