Easy to make, just didn't get the frosting consistency, so I just went with a glaze on top.

I reduced the recipe to only get a quarter of the recipe as I needed it only to repair a bad chocolate chip cookie batch I made (not sweet enough).

I made a mistake in the reduction or something, because the frosting - which I put in the microwave instead of did on the stove - was very runny. So runny it couldn't even be used as a glaze on the cookies, let alone frosting. So I added another ~1/8 c. chocolate chips. Then, after mixing together with a knife and letting it cool a bit, I spread it on the cookies. Absolutely amazing - and bonus that the frosting hardened so that the cookies didn't stick together when stacked. Another bonus: if rolled into balls and sprinkled with cocoa powder, this would actually make a type of truffle!

Anyway, I rated it as high as I did because I feel that it is really super good and if done as directed, most likely would make the type of frosting that others have raved about.

Good, not too chocolaty, and fast. One minute boil is what makes it set up (like fudge) when the dairy is added. Stays soft, which is nice. Light brown sugar works well for a penuche variation. Delicious as a frosting for a white or yellow cake.

Mixed cold: 1/4 cup butter (room temp soft), 1/4 cup whole milk and 1 cup (120 g.) of confectioners' sugar in Kitchen Aid mixer, then added the hot melted 1/2 cup of chocolate chips into cold mix at medium speed for 2 minutes. Result was excellent consistency and taste.

I doubled the recipe for a 9x13 inch cake. Used white chips for a vanilla frosting. After stirring on the stove I used an electric hand held mixer. It took quite a long time and never did thicken to the fluffy frosting texture. Maybe it isn't suppose to. But it was delicious on the white cake I made. I will make this again. Lots of compliments.

Perfect frosting. The kids love this. It will thicken up the more it cools. I took some of the leftover and froze it. When I took it out to thaw it stayed like fudge!! It was yummy. Next time I have leftover and freeze I will add nuts to it since it was like fudge. Thanks for recipe!!

Super-easy to make. Very sugary, but tasty. Poured it over a Bundt cake while the frosting was still warm. My family loved it.

I made this and after it cooled down it was awesome on top of my white cupcakes. I had tripled it so I put leftovers in freezer in square bowl and now that I took it out it was like fudge. Wish I had added nuts to the leftover because it taste yummy and I love fudge!! Great recipe!!!!

Perfect!! The sugar amount seemed high to me especially because you at the chocolate chips. I cut the sugar down to half a coup and it was perfect! My family loved it! Is my go to chocolate frosting!
