SQUASH OR PUMPKIN BREAD 
2/3 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2/3 c. light or dark brown sugar
1 can squash or pumpkin
4 eggs
2/3 c. orange or apple juice
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
2/3 c. nuts, chopped
2/3 c. raisins (I use Golden)
3 1/3 c. flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease pans. Mix shortening and sugars. Stir in eggs, squash, and juice. Blend in flour, soda, salt, powder, cinnamon and cloves. Stir in nuts and raisins. Pour into pans. Bake 1 hour or 1 hour 10 minutes; or until wooden pick in center comes out clean. Serve with fruited butters.
