STRAWBERRY TORTE 
1/2 c. butter
1 1/4 c. sugar
4 eggs
4 tbsp. milk
1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chopped nuts
Fresh strawberries
Whipped cream

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together butter and 1/2 cup sugar. Add 4 egg yolks and milk. Sift together flour, salt and baking powder. Add to creamed mixture and blend well. Pour batter into 2 ungreased layer pans (8 or 9 inch round).

Beat egg whites until stiff, gradually adding 3/4 cup sugar. Spread over batter in pans. Sprinkle chopped nuts over egg white layer. Bake 25 minutes. When cool, assemble with whipped cream and strawberries between layers and on top.
