CINNAMON ROLLS | |
1/3 c. lukewarm water 1 pkg. yeast 1 c. boiling water 2 heaping tbsp. shortening 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 c. evaporated milk Flour Put yeast in lukewarm water. Put 2 heaping tablespoons of shortening in large container to mix the dough. Add sugar and salt. Pour into boiling water and mix to dissolve shortening. Pour cold evaporated milk into mixture making it just warm. Pour in yeast and mix flour in while kneading in all the flour possible to make a stiff smooth dough. Smooth shortening over top and let rise until double, about 2 hours. Put out on floured board and roll out into oblong shape. Spread with butter. Put sugar down middle, sprinkle cinnamon on sugar, mix. Spread over all the dough. Roll it up, pinch to hold it. Cut rolls about 1 1/2 inches, place in greased pan, bake until brown at 350-400 degrees. |
