GOOSEBERRY CAKE 
3 egg yolks
75 grams (1/3 c.) sugar
75 grams (1/3 c.) butter
75 grams (1/2 c. plus 2 tsp.) flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder

Cream together egg yolks, sugar and butter until sugar has dissolved. Add flour and baking powder (don't stir too long). Put batter into a cake pan fitted with a wax paper liner. Make a meringue with 3 egg whites and 100 grams (1/2 cup) sugar.

Pour meringue over the yellow batter. Spread almond slivers over it. Bake at 180 degrees C (350 degrees F) for about 10 minutes. Put canned gooseberries on the cake. Other fruits may be used, for example, cooked rhubarb or berries.
