CHOCOLATE NUT CRUNCH 
2 c. vanilla wafer crumbs
1 c. chopped nuts (pecans are good)
1/2 c. butter
1 c. confectioners' sugar
3 well-beaten egg yolks
1 1/2 (1 oz.) squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 stiff-beaten lg. egg whites

Combine crumbs and nuts. Line bottom of 9-inch square pan with half of the crumb mixture. Thoroughly cream butter and sugar; add egg yolks. Add chocolate and vanilla. Mix well. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Spread over crumb mixture. Top with remaining crumb mixture. Chill in refrigerator overnight. Cut into squares. Serves 6.
