PINTO CASSEROLE 
1 lb. hamburger
1 tsp. oil
1/3 c. onion, chopped
3/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp. chili powder (may omit)
2 c. canned tomatoes or tomato juice
2 c. pinto beans

Brown hamburger in oil; add onions, salt, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder and tomatoes. Simmer for 15 minutes.

Add pinto beans; heat well. Pour in baking dish at least 10 x 10-inch. Set aside.

TOPPING:

10 tbsp. self-rising cornmeal
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 egg
1 1/2 tbsp. shortening

Mix well. Spread on bean mixture. Bake 20 minutes at 425 degrees.
