BLUSH APPLE PIE 
6 med. size apples
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
4 oz. pkg. red cinnamon candies
1 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 tbsp. butter
1 recipe plain pastry

Pare and slice apples. Combine sugar, water and red hots. Cook till all is dissolved. Add apples and simmer until apples are red; drain, reserving syrup. Blend flour with 1/2 cup cooled syrup; add lemon juice. Pour over apples in 8 inch pie plate lined with pastry. Dot with butter. Add lattice top crust and bake in hot oven (450 degrees) for 10 minutes, then 350 degree oven for 15 minutes.
