OLD FASHIONED BRAN MUFFINS 
1 c. All-Bran
3/4 c. milk
1 egg
1/4 c. soft shortening
1 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. sugar

1. Combine bran and milk and let stand until moisture is soaked up. Add egg and shortening and beat well.

2. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Add to bran and milk; stirring only until mixed.

3. Bake in moderate oven, 375 degrees, for 30 minutes.
