CHESS PIE 
1 3/4 c. sugar
1 stick butter
1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 tsp. salt
3 eggs
1 c. whole or buttermilk
1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell

Blend sugar, flour, salt and eggs. Stir enough to blend. Add milk and vanilla and melted butter. Do not overbeat! Pour into unbaked shell. Bake in 350 degree oven for 40 to 60 minutes, until center is set. Cool before cutting.
