ANGEL BISCUITS | |
1/2 lb. butter 1/4 c. sugar 5 c. self rising flour 1 pkg. yeast 4 tbsp. warm water 2 c. buttermilk Mix together the butter, sugar and self rising flour until of the consistency of meal. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Combine with the buttermilk. Stir into flour mixture and let rise 5 minutes at room temperature. Then put into a greased covered bowl and store in refrigerator for as long as a week. When ready to make hot bread remove desired amount of dough from amount in refrigerator, roll out and or pat into biscuits. It is not necessary for dough to rise again. Bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes. Refrigerate remaining dough. |
