YAMMY HAM 
2 tbsp. butter
4 thick slices smoked ham (1 1/2 lbs.)
2 tbsp. peanut butter
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1 bay leaf
1 tsp. flour
1/2 c. milk
1 (1 lb.) can whole yams, drained (reserve syrup)

Melt butter in covered baking pan, brown ham on both sides. Spread peanut butter on top side, pour lemon juice over and sprinkle with cloves. Add 1/4 cup yam syrup and bay leaf. Cover, cook over low heat 10 minutes, stir in flour, baste. Add more yam syrup if needed.

Cook 5 minutes, basting several times. Stir in milk, place yams around pan, spoon gravy over yams. Bake uncovered in 350 degree oven for 15 minutes. Baste, serve with gravy. Serves 4.
