CARAMEL CORN | |
4 qt. Corn - popped or (2 sacks of microwave corn) 2 sticks butter/oleo melted 2 c. brown sugar if unsalted corn is used add salt 1/2 c. Griffin's Crystal White Syrup 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. Griffin's Vanilla Remove kernels (unpopped corn) and place corn in 2 large baking pans. Stir together butter, brown sugar, salt (if needed), and syrup. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Add 1/2 tsp. baking soda and 1 tsp vanilla. Stir until all is dissolved. Quickly pour over corn. Stir. Place in 250°F oven for one hour, stir every 15 minutes to coat the corn. Cool and place in metal containers. |
