CRAB-APPLE JUICE 
1 ice cream pail of apples
5 qt. water
8 tsp. cream of tartar

Bring water to a boil. Add the cream of tartar, pour over apples. Cover; let stand 36 hours. Strain add 1 cup sugar to 10 cups juice. Seal in hot sterilized jars.

This made delightful juice although I wasn't sure how long to boil the apples. I let them boil for about 30 minutes. What's the accurate amount of time?

We always cut the crab apples in half, poured the boiling water over them added cream of tartar. After 36 hours we strained with cheese cloth then added sugar to your liking, and stored in sterilized jars .... Yummy!
