VERMONT BAKED BEANS | |
1 lb. dried navy or pea beans Water 2 tsp. dry mustard 1 3/4 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 3/4 c. maple syrup 1/4 c. molasses 1/4 lb. bacon, diced & cooked 1 sm. chopped onion Soak beans overnight. Heat beans to boiling. Cover and simmer 45 minutes. Drain, reserve 2 cups water. Put beans in pot. Combine remaining ingredients; stir. Bake at 275 degrees for 5 hours or put in crockpot on low for 8 to 10 hours. Add more water if needed. |
