BEAN SOUP 
2 bags dried Northern beans
A ham bone
Grated carrots (to taste)
Onions, chopped fine (to taste)
Salt
Lots of water
A big soup pot

Soak beans overnight in a large container. Rinse several times before putting beans in the soup pot. Add ham bone, carrots and onions. Cover with plenty of water. Salt to taste.

Bring to boil and lower heat to simmer. It will take a couple of hours or until beans are tender.

Recipe can be halved for less people.
