AUNT NORINE'S CHERRY DESSERT 
1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
7 tbsp. shortening
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1 can cherry pie filling

Mix sugar, flour, baking powder. Cut in shortening until crumbly. Stir in beaten egg. Grease 8 x 8 inch pan. Spread pie filling in bottom. Pour or pat flour mixture over pie filling. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream.
