LASAGNA - NO COTTAGE CHEESE 
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. pork sausage
1 clove garlic, minced
3/4 c. chopped onion
1 c. grated Parmesan cheese
8 oz. pkg. lasagna noodles, cooked
1/2 c. cubed Mozzarella cheese
15 oz. can tomato sauce
1 lb. can tomatoes
2 tbsp. chopped parsley
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. each of marjoram, thyme, oregano, basil
1 1/2 lbs. Ricotta cheese

Brown meat, garlic and onion in large saucepan. Drain off fat. Add tomatoes, sauce, parsley, sugar, salt and spices. Simmer uncovered 1 hour or until sauce is consistency of ketchup. Bake in 350 degree oven. Pour 1/2 cup sauce in baking pan. Add layer of noodles, cheese, both kinds and spoonsful of Ricotta cheese, tomato sauce until all is used. Top layer should be sauce and grated cheese. Bake for 1 hour. Serves 8 to 10 people. Preparation time: 2 hours 25 minutes. Calories 500 per serving.
