AMADAMA BREAD | |
1 pkg. active dry yeast 1 tsp. sugar 1 1/4 c. warm water 2 tbsp. butter, melted 2 tbsp. dark molasses 2 tsp. salt 3 1/2 c. bread flour 1 c. yellow cornmeal 1 egg Combine yeast, sugar and 1/4 cup warm water. Let stand 10 minutes then add butter, molasses, salt and cornmeal. Mix together and slowly add 1 cup of warm water. Mix in flour and knead for 12 minutes. Place in lightly oiled bowl and cover until doubled in volume, about 1 hour. Place in loaf pans and allow to rise again. Combine egg with a little water and brush over top of loaves. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour. Cool 20 minutes. Makes 2 loaves. |
