3 shredded wheat biscuits
1/3 c. shortening
1/3 c. molasses
1/4 c. sugar or less
1/2 tsp. salt
1 env. dry yeast
1/3 c. lukewarm water
5 c. flour (approximately)

Pour 2 cups boiling water over 3 shredded wheat biscuits. Add shortening, molasses, sugar and salt. Soak 1 envelope dry yeast in 1/3 cup lukewarm water. When shredded wheat mixture is lukewarm, add yeast and flour. Knead. (Dough is sticky!) Let rise until double. Punch down. Put in 2 greased loaf pans and let double again. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes. (This delicious dark bread is a Randall family favorite.)
