MARK'S GLUTEN-FREE BROWN SUGAR
SLOPPY JOES

1 lb. ground beef
1/4 cup brown sugar
1-2 tbsp. gluten-free Dijon mustard
4-5 tbsp. gluten-free barbecue sauce (I use Cookies)
2 cloves garlic, diced (or 1/4 tsp. garlic powder)
1 onion, diced (optional)
2 bell peppers, diced or sliced (optional)

Note: All quantities are approximations and should be adjusted based on how much you like each ingredient.

Brown hamburger in a skillet over medium high heat with onion and peppers, if using.

Once browned add in the brown sugar. If you used a lean hamburger (like 90% or 95%) you will want to add 1/2 cup water to help the sugar incorporate.

Once the brown sugar is mixed in add mustard, barbecue sauce and garlic. You want enough added in to have all the hamburger well coated, but not so much that the hamburger is sitting in a pool of sauce. The best way to achieve this is to add small amounts of the mustard and barbecue sauce at a time until the barbecue sauce looks and tastes good.

Suggestions for Gluten-Free serving:

Eat on ruffle potato chips, corn tortilla chips, or even tortilla scoops!
