1 c. sugar (white or brown)
2 tbsp. butter
3 c. apples, diced
1 egg
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream together butter and sugar, add egg and beat. Sift flour and spices together and combine the two mixtures. Fold in the apples and nuts and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Use 9 x 13 greased pan.
