CARAMEL LAYER CHOCOLATE SQUARES 
1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
1/3 c. evaporated milk
1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
1/2 c. butter, melted
1/3 c. evaporated milk
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

In top of double boiler combine caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk, melt and set aside. Can microwave to melt. Combine dry mix, melted butter and 1/3 cup evaporated milk, pat half of dough into greased 9"x13" pan. Bake for 6 minutes at 350 degrees. Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts over bottom layer, then spread caramel mixture and top with remaining dough. Return to oven and bake 15 to 18 minutes more.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
