CHOCOLATE CARAMEL SQUARES 
1 (6 oz.) can evaporated milk
1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
1 (17 oz.) box German or Swiss chocolate cake mix
3/4 c. melted butter
1 c. chopped pecans
1 (16 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Melt caramels in 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Set aside. Combine cake mix, butter, and remaining milk and nuts. Press 1/2 dough into greased and floured 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate pieces on baked dough. Add melted caramel mixture. Spread remaining dough over the top. Bake for 14-18 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
