CHOCOLATE CARAMEL LAYER SQUARES 
1 (14 oz.) bag caramels
2/3 c. evaporated milk
1 German chocolate cake mix
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 c. chopped nuts
6 oz. bag chocolate chips

Combine caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Melt in double boiler or microwave (3 minutes). Combine cake mix, butter and rest of milk; stir in nuts. Press half of cake mixture in 13"x9"x2" greased pan. Bake 6 minutes at 350 degrees, remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over cake mixture, then spread caramel mixture on top and cover with rest of cake mixture, crumbled. Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 to 18 minutes.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
