APPLE MACAROON 
5 med. tart apples, peel, core and slice as for pie
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 eggs
1/2 c. sugar for topping
1 c. flour
1/2 c. melted butter

Fill 9 inch pie pan with apples. Sprinkle with salt. Mix 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon and nuts. Sprinkle over apples. Beat eggs. Add 1/2 cup sugar, flour and melted butter. Pour over apple mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Serve warm or cold.
