PEAR PRESERVES 
1/2 bushel fresh pears, peeled & cut up in pieces

In large pan with pear slices, cover with sugar. Let set overnight. Next day, cook on low heat first, then increase to medium heat as pears get hot. Cook until tender. Add cloves to taste. Pour in jars and seal.
